Installation Guide
1. Prepare the wall surface properly.
Before diving into any tiling project, it’s imperative that the wall or floor is properly prepared. A clean level surface allows the tile to stick. To prepare the surface, sand or scrape away any old adhesive or protrusions that may prevent the new tile from lying completely flat, then clean the wall using a degreaser if necessary. Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.
2. Measure and Plan.
Measure the area where you want to install the backsplash tiles and calculate the number of tiles required. It's a good idea to plan the layout and have a clear idea of how you want the tiles to be arranged.
3. Start from the Center.
Begin the installation from the center point of the backsplash area. This will help ensure that the tiles are evenly distributed on both sides. Use a level or ruler to draw a straight vertical guideline to align the tiles.
4. Peel Off the Backing.
Peel off the backing from the first tile, starting from one corner. Be careful not to touch the sticky side of the tile. If the tiles come with paper backing, ensure you remove it completely.
5. Apply the Tile.
Align the exposed adhesive side of the tile with the vertical guideline you drew earlier. Press the tile firmly onto the surface, starting from the center and moving outwards.
6. Continue Installing.
Peel off the backing from the next tile and align it with the previous one, ensuring a snug fit. Repeat this process, adding one tile at a time, until you reach the edges of the backsplash area. Trim any excess tiles using a utility knife or scissors as needed.
7. Finishing Touches.
Once all the tiles are installed, go over the surface again with a rolling pin or clean cloth to ensure strong adhesion. Clean the tiles with a damp cloth to remove any residue or fingerprints.
Remember to read and follow the instructions for specific installation guidelines and recommendations. With proper preparation and care, you can easily achieve a professional-looking peel and stick backsplash tile installation!
